Ours is a tower with a unique heritage. For a long period the Mancroft ringers were the leading exponents of their art. Not only was the first recorded peal rung here (2nd May, 1715), but the first ever peals of Grandsire (1718) and Stedman (1731) Triples were rung at St Peter Mancroft. We are also very fortunate to have some very fine artefacts which provide a tangible link with our predecessors. The ringing chamber has an atmosphere redolent of its importance in ringing history. The magnificent peal boards serve as a constant reminder of our long and continuous tradition of ringing here at the heart of the city.
